The Marietta City School Calendar for the 2026 to 2027 school year begins on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 and ends on Friday, May 26, 2027.

School Holidays:

Labor Day – September 7, 2026
Fall Break – September 21 – 25, 2026
Thanksgiving Break – November 23 – 27, 2026
Holiday Break – December 21, 2026 to January 1, 2027
Martin Luther King Jr Day – January 18, 2027
President’s Day – February 15, 2027
Winter Break – February 16 – 19, 2027
Spring Break – April 5 – 9, 2027
Last Day of School – May 26, 2027

School Calendar Guidelines and Notes:
State law requires that students are in school 180 days or its equivalent. Each year, school districts are given four “emergency days” they can use for a variety of purposes. Many districts have been building those days into their calendars. In Marietta City Schools, there are 178 days scheduled for students, and 188 days scheduled for teachers. The first semester includes 87 school days (94 for teachers) and ends prior to Holiday Break. Second semester includes 91 school days (94 for teachers), and ends prior to Memorial Day. Fall Break begins on the last full week of September. Winter Break begins on the third Monday in February (Presidents Day). Spring Break begins on the first Monday in April, providing consistency with the Cobb County School District and many other metro Atlanta school systems.
