Marietta Entertainment District

The Marietta Square has a “downtown entertainment district” where you can purchase alcoholic beverages to-go and stroll around the area with an open-container.  Establishments such as restaurants, bars, and breweries with alcohol permits are permitted to sell to-go drinks.

There are no limitations on the days or hours of purchase, except for when the aforementioned establishments are authorized to sell alcohol. The selection of drinks available for purchase includes mixed drinks, cocktails, beers, and glasses of wine, all served in transparent plastic cups designed for on-the-go consumption.

The entertainment district specifically excludes Glover Park and the adjacent sidewalks surrounding the park at the center of Marietta Square.  The sidewalks across the street from Glover Park are included in the entertainment district.

No alcohol is allowed in Glover Park or the sidewalks bordering the park

The entertainment district began as a 1-year trial that started on November 12, 2020.  During the first year, it was only permitted to sell to-go containers on Thursdays from 5 pm until 10 pm, Friday from 5 pm until 11 pm, and Saturday from 10 am until 11 pm.  When the district was made permanent on November 11, 2021, the day and time restrictions were removed. Cheers!
