Ninth Annual Ride to Change the Future™

Ninth Annual Ride to Change the Future™, a six hour, 100-mile ride on indoor cycling equipment at the Midtown Athletic Club at Windy Hill. Proceeds fund research to find an early screening test for Ovarian Cancer. Training for the event begins the weekend of March 10th/11th at Atlanta area gyms. The final ride will be held April 21.

Georgia Daffodil Society Blooms at the Chattahoochee Nature Center

CNC’s Kingfisher Hall will again bask in the gold, yellow, white and pink glow of hundreds of daffodils as The Georgia Daffodil Society presents its annual show. Spreading the joy of growing daffodils and educating the public has been the core of this Society’s mission since 1954. Last year nearly 500 blooms adorned the room with their springtime beauty.

The GDS encourages newcomers, regardless of age, to enter their blooms.
You may enter your blooms on Friday, March 16th from 12 Noon to 6:00 PM & Saturday morning from 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM before the show opens to the public from Noon-5.

Marietta Mardi Gras Run 5k

The Marietta Mardi Gras Run is a fun 5k race presented by Junior League of Cobb-Marietta. All proceeds will be used to benefit the ongoing community projects that are sponsored by the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta. The race is a Peachtree Qualifier and also includes a shoe drive in partnership with Shoes for the Cure. ALL shoes are welcome- not just running shoes. There will be bins for drop off available.

Marietta Square Winter Farmers Market

A winter edition of the popular Marietta Square Farmers Market is open from 10am to 1pm every Saturday through March 31, 2012. The market is located on Mill Street just off the main square. The winter market will take place every Saturday rain or shine.

A total of 38 vendors will participate this year selling Georgia grown, Georgia made or Georgia produced products including local vegetables, lettuce, baked goods, bread, eggs, local honey, bacon, sausage, salami, cured meat, fish, rabbit, cheese, milk, pasta, pilaf, salsa, and more. Selling begins as each individual vendor sets up – no later than 10am – so get there early for the best selection.

(the official hours are 10 to 1, however many of the vendors are set up and selling by 9am)
