Sully’s Steamers: Bagel Sandwiches, But Not a Bagel Shop

Sully’s Steamers on Marietta Square opened on July 28, 2025, at 50 Powder Springs St, between Kiosco and Two Birds Tap House. This place isn’t your neighborhood bagel shop with plain cream cheese and lox. At Sully’s, the bagel is the foundation for sandwich creations that are built to be bold and then steamed to messy perfection.

The Steam Process

Their made-to-order process involves stuffing fresh ingredients into a split bagel, then steaming the whole thing in a special oven until every flavor melts into the next. This technique transforms ordinary bagels into hand-held flavor bombs, where cheese becomes oozy and toppings meld into each bite. Steaming the bagels also results in a softer texture, making them much easier to eat as a sandwich.

Menu Highlights

Customers will find options ranging from classics like roast beef Phillies, pepperoni-loaded Italians, and stacked Reubens to slightly lighter (but still hearty) combos like egg-and-cheese, vegan hummus with veggies, or smoked salmon with capers. Signature creations include The Griswold (the best-seller, made with turkey, bacon, two cheeses, lettuce, BBQ sauce and parm-peppercorn) and Nacho Maximus (turkey, cheddar, lettuce, honey mustard, parm-peppercorn and Doritos). For those craving a classic pizza in bagel form, they have pizza bagel sandwiches as well as B-Rad’s Best, which stacks meatballs, pepperoni, salami, provolone, pizza sauce, banana peppers, and onions on a bagel. Breakfast options range from the Meat Chimney (sausage, bacon, egg and cheddar) to California Steamin’ (bacon, egg, veggie cream cheese and avocado).

The Sully Experience

The man behind the steam is Robert “Sully” Sullivan, a regular guy who wasn’t trained in culinary school, but saw an opportunity to deliver high-quality food at fair prices. His straightforward approach to good food and laid-back atmosphere started with his first location in Greenville, SC in 2013. Now with 17 locations and counting, he remains hands-on, sharing his story with anyone who asks and ensuring that every sandwich carries the same warmth and flavor that launched the original shop.

For the Bold, the Hungry, and the Slightly Messy

Guests can dine in, eat on the outdoor patio, grab food to go, or order ahead online, so bring your appetite and maybe grab a few extra napkins. These sandwiches aren’t made to stay tidy.
