Satellite Restaurant and Arcade Bar

Satellite Restaurant and Arcade Bar takes the arcade expertise behind Starrcade in Kennesaw and adds a full kitchen, cocktail bar, pinball, retro cabinets, and modern multiplayer games. The result is a restaurant and arcade built for people who would rather chase a high score between drinks than stare at another wall of televisions.

Satellite is located at 3372 Canton Road, next to Dr. No’s Comics and 2nd Chance Toys. The interior setting has a sci fi space station and cyberpunk theme, right down to the menu graphics, Japanese lettering, and dish names pulled from video games and anime.

From Repair Techs to Arcade Owners

Satellite grew out of Starrcade Amusements, a Georgia company founded by arcade technicians.

Owner Shane Starr started tinkering with arcade hardware while in college, converting an old Qix cabinet into a multicade using a broken Xbox controller and some creative soldering. That hobby led to a job with Chuck E. Cheese and later Round1, where Starr traveled around the country installing and repairing arcade equipment. During the pandemic, he saw an opening for independent technicians capable of maintaining machines for arcade operators.

Starr began repairing games on the side and refurbishing machines for resale. By September 2021, that side business had developed into a repair route with several contracts. Starrcade eventually moved out of his garage and into a warehouse in Woodstock, and the company now services dozens of arcade locations across the Southeast.

The public facing Starrcade arcade followed at Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw in late 2023. About 90 machines fit into roughly 3,400 square feet, with an emphasis on games that are increasingly difficult to find in operating condition. The collection ranges from 1980s classics through games from the 1990s and early 2000s, along with Japanese imports, rhythm games, pinball, and low production machines.

That repair background is a major part of what makes Starrcade unique. Its technicians travel to other arcades for service calls and have used those trips to locate unusual cabinets, some headed for disposal before Starrcade acquired and restored them. Starr has said the collection includes Pinpoint Shot, a late 1990s rifle game that he believes is the only operating example left in the world. Satellite is the next version of that business.

Chef Adam Smawley’s Menu

Chef Adam Smawley developed a menu for the restaurants side that gets into the theme. The starters include Shredder’s Cheddars, fried cheese curds with house marinara, TMNTreats stuffed egg rolls, Galaxy Eggs with soy marinated deviled eggs, Obi Wan Bulgogi with tortilla chips and Korean barbecue shaved ribeye, and Spice Invaders with Sichuan peanut hummus.

The handheld section gets even more interesting. Seoul Calibur combines Korean fried chicken with gochujang sauce, citrus agave slaw, charred scallion aioli, and quick pickled cucumber on sesame brioche. The Red Comet pairs fried chicken with basil whipped ricotta, Calabrian arrabbiata sauce, mozzarella, provolone, and arugula.

Like a Dragon is a battered cod sandwich with chili crisp, citrus agave slaw, scallion aioli, and pickled cucumber. Hatsune Meat ku is Satellite’s cheesesteak, made with shaved ribeye, sautéed onion, white American cheese, and charred scallion aioli. Galaxies Unknown goes in another direction with griddled mortadella, provolone, shredded lettuce, poppyseed glaze, kewpie mayo, and Voodoo chips on toasted white bread.

For something simpler, the Smash Brother features a single beef patty, American cheese, onion, pickle, and rumble sauce on sesame brioche. The Super Smash Brother doubles the beef.

Wings and Tenders

The wing section continues the naming scheme with Gundam Wings available in six or twelve piece orders. Flavors include Kor Epsom BBQ, Heavy Arms Garlic Parm, Buffalo Wing Zero, Endless Waltz PB&J, Space Dust Dry Rub, Shenlong Szechuan Chili Crisp, Deathscythe Gochujang, and Sandrock Hot Honey Lemon Pepper.

Chicken tenders get their own sauces. Thai Fighter adds soy satay noodles, pepper jelly glaze, sesame peanut crumble, scallions, pickled chiles, and lime. General Peppa’s Steppas pairs tenders with hot honey lemon pepper sauce, Brussels sprouts, ranch pickled onion relish, scallions, and fries.

Denny San features the tenders over an okonomiyaki waffle with kewpie mayo, okonomi sauce, furikake, bonito flakes, and scallions. Southern Cross includes gravy, cheese curds, crispy shallots, and pickled peppers.

There are also salads, fries, Sichuan smashed cucumbers, Brussels sprouts, and desserts. The Violet Evergarden combines ube cheesecake with wonton sopapilla crumble, ube coconut milk broth, candied hibiscus, grass jelly, and black sugar boba. Space Channel Dubai vere pairs triple chocolate brownie with kataifi spread and pistachio cream.

There is enough weirdness here to make ordering dinner entertaining.

Cocktails and More

Satellite includes a full cocktail bar along with beer, wine, and nonalcoholic options. After 4 pm, Satellite becomes an 18 and older venue. That policy makes it feel more like an arcade bar and less like a family entertainment center, and the full kitchen makes it possible to spend several hours there.

Grand Opening

Satellite’s grand opening takes place Friday, September 18, 2026, beginning at 4 pm. A soft opening is planned for September 13, 16, and 17, 2026.

The first 50 adults in line receive a Satellite T shirt and 10 percent off food for life. During opening weekend, guests spending $25 or more on food and drinks receive free gameplay cards.

Satellite completed its initial Cobb and Douglas Public Health inspection on September 2 with a score of 100 and an A grade.
