2026 May-retta Daze Arts, Crafts, & Music Festival

May-retta Daze takes over the historic Marietta Square on the first weekend in May, bringing a full lineup of art, music, and handmade goods to Glover Park. The festival features artists and makers showcasing their work, with booths filled with everything from paintings and pottery to woodwork, metal pieces, glass, fabric goods, soaps, and candles. Every item is made by the artist, no mass production, no assembly lines, just people who actually made the thing standing there ready to talk about it.

Along with the art, live acoustic music takes place throughout the weekend on the Glover Park stage. It’s a steady soundtrack that makes it easy to slow down, wander the Square, and take your time moving from booth to booth.

There’s plenty happening beyond the booths. A Kid’s Zone keeps younger visitors busy, and festival food vendors make sure no one has to wander too far on an empty stomach.

One of the more entertaining traditions of the weekend is the May-retta Derby Hat Parade. It lines up with Kentucky Derby Day, and the rules are simple: go big, get creative, and don’t play it safe. Parade participants show off hats that range from elegant to completely over-the-top. Prizes are awarded for the most unique designs, but there’s one important rule: if you want to win, it has to be handmade. No shortcuts, no store-bought stand-ins. No sign-up required. Just show up ready to turn heads.

Also on Saturday morning, the Marietta Square Farmers Market takes place nearby at the Mill Street parking lot, which means fresh produce, baked goods, and a few extra reasons to arrive early and stay longer.

The best festival approach is simple: take your time, talk to the artists, and don’t rush it. Events like this are less about checking boxes and more about wandering until something catches your eye.

Wear comfortable shoes, bring a little patience for parking, and leave plenty of room in your schedule. You’ll probably need it.
