Fin & Feathers is bringing its Atlanta born restaurant and nightlife concept to 16 Atlanta Street SE, across the street from Johnnie MacCracken’s and just off the Marietta Square. The restaurant opened in the former Carmen’s Kitchen & Cocktails space and features Southern comfort food, seafood, cocktails, music, hookah, and an atmosphere built for dining and late nights.
Fin & Feathers calls its cooking “Nu American Soul,” which translates into a menu that elevates familiar Southern food. On the “Fin” side of the menu, there is shrimp and grits, catfish and grits, salmon and grits, honey bourbon salmon, fried catfish, lobster tails, and seafood starters. On the “Feathers” side, there are numerous chicken dishes including Chicken and waffles, Southern fried chicken, chicken thigh nuggets, wings, chicken sandwiches, and jerk chicken egg rolls.
Additional options include lamb chops, ribeye, tacos, burgers, mac and cheese, cheese grits, roasted corn, and other comfort food staples. Brunch includes French toast, omelets, steak and eggs, breakfast burritos, lamb chops and eggs, and several of the restaurant’s grits dishes. The restaurant’s menu also includes a dedicated hookah section, adding another activity to the restaurant’s late night lounge atmosphere alongside cocktails, music, and dinner.
Restaurateur Damon A. Johnson Sr. founded Fin & Feathers after years in Atlanta’s restaurant and hospitality business. His background included management and operations roles at BQE, Atlantis, Tom, Dick & Hank, Escobar Restaurant and Lounge, and Members Only before he developed his own restaurant concept.
Fin & Feathers began in Atlanta in 2019 and has since expanded into several Georgia markets along with a Las Vegas location. The formula combines Southern influenced food with cocktails and a lively evening atmosphere, giving customers both a dining destination and a late night lounge.
The Marietta location soft opened on August 6 and will hold its grand opening on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 5 pm. After 8 pm each day, the restaurant is for guests age 21 and older only, with valid photo identification required. In addition, a 20 percent service charge is added to all checks.
