Marietta Square Burger and Cheesesteak Spots

If you have a craving for beef, cheese, and bread, Marietta Square has plenty of great options. There are classic cheesesteaks, smash burgers, blue cheese burgers, pimento cheeseburgers, and a Korean take on the Philly. Several restaurants have large sections of their menus devoted to burgers or cheesesteaks, while others have just one or two serious burger or cheesesteak options on the menu.

Stockyard Burgers & Bones

For the largest burger menu near the Square, Stockyard Burgers and Bones at 26 Mill Street is a great starting point.

The Dirty South starts with a Black Angus beef burger and then adds smoked Gouda mac and cheese, bacon, and apple butter barbecue sauce. The Yard Burger includes Maytag blue cheese, bacon onion jam, and arugula. Jane’s Not So Plain stays closer to the classic, with sharp cheddar, lettuce, tomato, smoked paprika aioli, and house pickles.

There is also a Smoked Gouda Smash with grass fed beef, Gouda, onions, garlic aioli, and bourbon glaze, plus a Pimento Patty Melt with caramelized onions, pimento cheese and smoked paprika aioli on Texas toast.

Roxy’s Burger

Inside Marietta Square Market, Roxy’s Burger specializes in burgers, fries, and other American comfort food. Its menu includes an Original Smash, Oklahoma Smash, Classic Cheeseburger, and Build Your Own Burger. The Classic Cheeseburger uses beef patties, American cheese, pickles and a ketchup, mustard, and mayo blend on a brioche bun. A Double Patty Melt includes Swiss cheese, grilled onions, and smash sauce.

Three Roses Tavern

Three Roses Tavern has an entire gourmet burger section on the menu. The All American Burger comes with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and house burger sauce. The Chow Chow Burger adds pepper jack, spicy corn chow chow, an onion ring, and chipotle mayo. The Bacon, Jalapeño, & Pimento Cheeseburger piles on pimento cheese, pickled jalapeños, red onions, lettuce, and tomato.

For something farther from the standard American cheeseburger, the Greek Burger uses ground lamb with pepper jelly, feta, and Greek spices.

Two Birds Taphouse

Two Birds Taphouse covers both categories on their menu. The All American burger features two Certified Angus smash patties with cheddar, lettuce, house pickles, tomato, and burger sauce. The Philly Cheesesteak includes shaved sirloin with sautéed peppers and onions and white American cheese.

Weekend brunch includes a Breakfast Burger with two Certified Angus smash patties, American cheese, bacon, an over easy egg, and jalapeño poblano aioli. It is breakfast in the same sense that a Bloody Mary is juice.

Woody’s CheeseSteaks

For a straightforward Philly style sandwich, Woody’s CheeseSteaks at 95 Church Street is built around the cheesesteak. The bread is sourced from Philadelphia, and a Woody’s Original Philly combines thinly sliced steak, white American cheese, and grilled onions. The Chicken Cheesesteak replaces the steak with grilled chicken breast while retaining the cheese and onions. A Veggie CheeseFake includes grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms, American cheese, lettuce, and tomato.

The original Woody’s was established in 1975 in Atlanta, and its Marietta location opened in 2025.

Philly & Wraps

A second cheesesteak specialist can be found inside Marietta Square Market. Philly & Wraps offers a Philly Cheese Steak with steak, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, green peppers, mushrooms, and mayonnaise.

The Chicken Philly follows the same general formula with grilled chicken, while the Buffalo Chicken version adds Buffalo sauce to the chicken, cheese, vegetables, and mayonnaise.

West Park Sports Club

West Park Sports Club at 29 West Park Square takes a less traditional approach.

Its WPSC Smashed Burger uses Turner Farms grass fed prime beef with American cheese, WPSC sauce, house pickles, lettuce, and tomato. The menu also includes a Bulgogi Cheesesteak, giving the familiar steak and cheese sandwich some new Korean flavors.

L on North

Across North Park Square, L on North offers the RKO Burger, an 11 ounce Certified Angus beef burger with American cheese, tomato jam, and crispy onions on brioche.

The restaurant also has an Ahi Tuna Burger made from ground ahi tuna, seared rare and paired with soy sesame ginger sauce, crispy onions, marinated cucumbers, and wasabi mayo.

Hamp & Harry’s

At 168 Roswell Street, Hamp & Harry’s has built a reputation around its Double H Smash Burger. The burger uses two beef patties with H&H special sauce and melted Comté cheese.

Owner Scott McCray has said the burger was created after several cocktails while he was feeling appropriately smashed. Sometimes food origin stories involve generations of family recipes. Sometimes somebody has a few drinks and decides two patties need Comté cheese. Both methods have produced respectable results.

WR Social House

WR Social House at 25 North Park Square has a specialty burger section plus a cheesesteak on the menu.

The Classic Burger combines a prime beef patty with American cheese, lettuce, pickles, caramelized onions, tomato and house burger sauce. The California Smash Burger doubles up with two prime beef patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and burger sauce.

Marietta Proper

Marietta Proper adds two burgers to the count from its spot on the Square.

The Proper Burger uses two beef smash patties with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, Vidalia onion, and pickle on a brioche bun. The restaurant also offers a Portobello Burger with a portobello cap, fried goat cheese, pickled Vidalia onion, and hot honey on brioche.

One is built for the traditional burger crowd. The other skips the beef completely to give the vegetarian crowd an option.

Two Bells Burgers & Cheesesteaks

Marietta Square burger and cheesesteak lovers are about to get another entrant. Two Bells Burgers & Cheesesteaks is preparing to replace Boru Ramen Noodle & Poke Bar at 154 Roswell Street near Marietta Square.

A detailed Two Bells menu has not yet been announced, but the name of the restaurant makes its focus pretty clear. It will arrive within walking distance of Stockyard, Roxy’s, Three Roses, Two Birds, Woody’s, Philly & Wraps, West Park, L on North, Hamp & Harry’s, WR Social, Marietta Proper, and several other restaurants already serving serious burgers and cheesesteaks.
