The 12th annual Marietta Veterans Day Parade takes place on Friday, November 11, 2016. The parade begins at 11 am at Roswell Street Baptist Church, loops through Marietta Square, and ends between the new Cobb Courthouse and Marietta City Hall. The patriotic parade includes marching bands, drill teams, floats, military vehicles and veterans’ organizations.  The parade will have both Marietta and Cobb County schools represented by their bands and their JROTC units.  Thirty or more parade entries are anticipated along with a display of military vehicles.

After the parade, spectators are invited to pay tribute to the men and women who have fought to keep Marietta and America free during a ceremony on the Square at noon.

This year’s Grand Marshal will be Captain Ed Gallrein, United States Navy SEAL (retired). CAPT Gallrein continues to work with Joint Special Operations Command. The Color Guard will be provided by the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, United States Marine Corps. A 21-Gun Salute and “Taps” will be performed by the Cobb County Sheriff’s Department.

  1. Hi, I go to Hillgrove High School, and I am in the JROTC unit and we were looking for a parade to be able to march in. If this is okay, please contact me through my e-mail so we can talk. Thank you!

  2. Please advise on correct date of parade. Is it the second Saturday in November, the 9th or is it on Veterans Day, the 11th?
