Keep Marietta Beautiful is offering a free document shredding day. The event takes place twice a year – in April for the Great American Clean Up and in November for America Recycles Day.

The next event takes place from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

Recycling Policies:

Electronics: TVs, Consoles and Monitors ($10), everything else is free. Computers, monitors, routers, keyboards, printers, mother boards, modems, hard drives, fax machines, cell phones, copiers, printers, VCRs, DVD players, radios and hand tools. If it has a cord or uses batteries bring it; they’ll take it.

Secured Document Destruction: Cancelled checks, medical, tax returns, financial statements, or anything else that you do not want to compromise your identity.  Not accepting CDs, DVDs, or Binders. There will be a $5 per vehicle charge and a 10 box limit.  Additional charges may be assessed for quantities greater than 10 boxes or 100 pounds.

Other items: Appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers), blenders, toasters, microwaves, grills, gas or electric yard equipment (lawnmowers, chain saws,  edgers, trimmers (gas and oil drained); if it’s metal, bring it.

  1. Question – for shredding, do you take manila envelopes that have those small metal clasps on them? or stapled items?

  2. I would like to know if there is another shredding day scheduled or planned? I have a small box of documents that I need to have shredded.
