Casa Grande Bar & Grill

Casa Grande Bar & Grill officially opened its Marietta location on February 13, 2026, after a brief soft opening period. The restaurant joins an existing Austell location and expands the footprint of this growing concept under the Marietta Family Restaurants Group, the same group behind the well-known and nearby Marietta Diner.

Located on Franklin Gateway, the new restaurant brings a lively dining room filled with colorful décor, high energy, and plenty of seating for everything from casual lunches to large group dinners. It is the type of place where sizzling platters make their entrance known before the server reaches the table.

The menu features a large variety of Mexican favorites while also including a few Peruvian, Spanish, Cajun, and Tex-Mex influences. The Casa Grande Molcajete for Two arrives in a giant stone bowl loaded with ranchera sauce, steak, chicken, chorizo, pork ribs, shrimp, cactus, cheese, and more, designed to be shared and admired before being devoured. For larger parties, the Parrillada Rey brings an oversized skillet stacked with grilled meats, shrimp, quesadillas, roasted corn, and sides that turn dinner into a feast (suggested for 4).

Tacos range from al pastor and chargrilled steak to quesabirria and even Philly Tacos, blending classic flavors with playful additions. Birria empanadas and buffalo calamari offer bold starters, while guacamole is prepared tableside for those who like their avocado seasoned to order.

Casa Grande also brings some flavors from Peru with dishes like Peruvian Chicken, marinated for 24 hours and served over Lyonnaise potatoes (a classic French side dish), and Lomo Saltado, featuring marinated beef, red onions, tomatoes, and aji amarillo peppers alongside rice and potatoes. Spanish-inspired Papas Bravas appear on the sides list, and fusion plates like Pasta Rico mix penne pasta with crema picante, chorizo, and grilled chicken.

Seafood fans will find options such as Camarones a la Diabla, Salmon Azteca, and red snapper prepared Cajun-style or grilled. Steak lovers can opt for selections like Ribeye Steak de Piña, marinated in pineapple, soy, and ginger before hitting the grill.

Portions run generous across the board, from sizzling fajitas to fully loaded nachos. The drink menu includes Mexican sodas, mocktails like the Mango Cooler and Pepino Refresco, and a full bar with a lineup of cocktails to pair with the bold flavors coming out of the kitchen.

Tacos La Villa

Tacos La Villa has opened a new Marietta location at 3545 Canton Road, expanding the taqueria’s growing footprint around Cobb County. The restaurant opened on January 21, 2026, giving Marietta diners a top stop for tacos, birria, and other classic Mexican street-food staples.

Tacos La Villa opened its first location in Smyrna in 2011, started by owners from Villa Purificación in Jalisco, Mexico. In May of 2018, Atlanta Magazine awarded Tacos La Villa the number 3 spot in their list of the 10 Best Mexican Restaurants in Atlanta. In the article, they noted that Tacos La Villa “might be the third best Mexican restaurant in the metro area, but it’s undeniably the home of the very best tacos.”

By then, the restaurant had already gained a strong local following, leading to a second location in Kennesaw that opened on December 4, 2018, and a third spot in Smyrna that opened on October 26, 2024. After the third location also drew strong traffic, it was expanded in January 2025 and a full bar along with extra dining space was added. Now, with two new locations in Marietta in 2026, the expansion continues.

The menu at Tacos La Villa leans into tacos and specialties that have built the brand’s reputation. Favorites include their signature tacos (of course), with 13 types of meat, veggie, and seafood options. In addition to the regular tacos, they also offer birria tacos made with beef cooked until tender, tucked into tortillas with cheese, then paired with a cup of consommé for dipping.

Another popular option is their birria pizza, a mash-up that layers birria and melted cheese on a crisp tortilla base and top, then arrives with consommé on the side for maximum dunking potential. Beyond birria, the menu also includes items like huaraches, quesadillas, tortas, sopes, tamales, milanesa, caldo de res, and a variety of other traditional Mexican dishes.

Tacos La Villa also has a full-service concept: Tacos La Villa Cantina at 800 Whitlock Ave, in the former MamiTaco space in the Burnt Hickory Village Shopping Center. Unlike their counter-service locations, the Cantina is the only one that is a sit-down spot with table service and a full bar. The Cantina opened on February 3, 2026 and recently posted a perfect 100 on its initial health inspection dated January 7, 2026.

On the other end of the list, Mediterranean Grill posted the lowest score in this batch with an 80 on their follow-up inspection. The Georgia Food + Wine Festival is a spectacular three-day event that takes place at Jim R. Miller Park each March. Enthusiasts will be treated to an array of culinary delights, with local celebrities and chefs showcasing their skills. With a roster of events designed to tantalize the senses, attendees can look forward to evenings such as “Fired Up” and the signature “Savor” tasting event.

Each day is packed with unique experiences. Friday turns up the heat with barbecue mastery, while Saturday unfolds as the main event, offering a VIP Lounge and numerous beverage varietals to sample. Sunday caps off the festivities with a family-friendly atmosphere.

Not only does the festival indulge your palate, but it also serves a noble cause. The partnership with SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center ensures that enjoyment at the festival translates into support for the community.

“Fired-Up – Friday”
An evening celebrating everything grilled, smoked, barbecued and more. A wide variety of the best barbecue in the South: beef, pork, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dishes will be available to taste from some of Georgia and the South’s most renowned Pitmasters and chefs. Enjoy live music, wine, beer and spirits tastings in a souvenir glass. This is an all-inclusive event, with food and drink included with admission ticket.

Saturday, March 28, 2026:

“Saturday Savor”
An unbelievable afternoon of sumptuous food and drink, with some of Georgia’s best chefs, restaurants and more offering a variety of delicious bites. Tickets include a souvenir wine glass for unlimited beverage tastings of wine, beer and spirits, along with 10 culinary credits (5 Tokens) good towards purchase of gourmet bites and plates from a variety of restaurants, food trucks and specialty food companies. Samples from the culinary and beverage tasting stages will be available for the first 100 people seated in attendance at the Georgia Grown and Celebrity Chef Cooking Demo Stages. Several live music stages will be located throughout the festival. An artisan market with an assortment of unique items will showcase food products, handmade gifts, artwork, and more.

“Saturday Savor – VIP Lounge”
VIP Lounge tickets include early access to the festival and crystal souvenir tasting wine glass. The VIP Lounge is an exclusive, fully catered VIP Lounge experience with designated restrooms, open bars with cocktails, beer and wine, live music and more,. A limited number of tickets are available. The VIP Lounge ticket also includes full access to the general admission area of Savor and $10 in tasting credits (5 Tokens).

Cobb County is under a Winter Storm Watch from Saturday afternoon, January 24, 2026 through Monday morning, January 26, 2026, with forecasters warning that ice totals could reach nearly half an inch. That much ice can bring down tree limbs and power lines, raising the risk of power outages, downed trees, and dangerous travel conditions. Officials say travel could become nearly impossible if roads turn slick, and the Monday morning commute could take a major hit if icy conditions linger into the start of the work week.

Cobb County Prepares for Possible Impacts

In a January 22, 2026 update, Cobb County said crews are preparing for potential winter weather and possible effects on county operations early next week. County Manager Dr. Jackie McMorris met with department leaders to review preparations and response planning.

The Cobb County Department of Transportation is developing a staffing plan and monitoring conditions to decide when to begin proactively treating roads. The county noted that ice is especially difficult to manage, and drivers are urged to avoid travel if roads become slick, both for safety and to help crews keep up with changing conditions.

Statewide Emergency Declared

Governor Brian P. Kemp declared a statewide State of Emergency ahead of the storm and directed GEMA/HS to activate the State Operations Center. The state’s emergency declaration is set to run through January 29, 2026.
