The Cobb EMC Annual Meeting takes place each September, allowing members to participate in elections and hear updates from leadership, and those who register in person also receive up to four free tickets to the North Georgia State Fair. Registration takes place from 8 am to 9:30 am, and those who register during this window will be eligible for the tickets and door prize drawings.
Along with the free fair tickets, members can hear updates from leadership, vote in director elections and bylaw amendments, and stay for the chance to win raffle and door prizes at the end of the meeting. The day begins at 8:30 am with candidate speeches, followed by the official business meeting at 9:30 am.
All members attending imust bring a valid photo ID. To help speed up registration, Cobb EMC recommends also bringing a copy of your bill, a digital copy from the Cobb EMC app, or the September issue of Georgia Magazine with the QR code on the mailing label. Commercial, government, and church groups must provide authorization to represent their organizations at registration.
The meeting is family-friendly, and children can also take free bucket truck rides at the event. Bucket truck rides are supervised rides in the lift trucks that lineworkers use to reach power lines.
Parking is free, and attendants will be available to direct traffic. Coffee, water, and prepackaged snacks will be provided before the meeting while supplies last.
