Tacos La Villa has opened a new Marietta location at 3545 Canton Road, expanding the taqueria’s growing footprint around Cobb County. The restaurant opened on January 21, 2026, giving Marietta diners a top stop for tacos, birria, and other classic Mexican street-food staples.
Tacos La Villa opened its first location in Smyrna in 2011, started by owners from Villa Purificación in Jalisco, Mexico. In May of 2018, Atlanta Magazine awarded Tacos La Villa the number 3 spot in their list of the 10 Best Mexican Restaurants in Atlanta. In the article, they noted that Tacos La Villa “might be the third best Mexican restaurant in the metro area, but it’s undeniably the home of the very best tacos.”
By then, the restaurant had already gained a strong local following, leading to a second location in Kennesaw that opened on December 4, 2018, and a third spot in Smyrna that opened on October 26, 2024. After the third location also drew strong traffic, it was expanded in January 2025 and a full bar along with extra dining space was added. Now, with two new locations in Marietta in 2026, the expansion continues.
The menu at Tacos La Villa leans into tacos and specialties that have built the brand’s reputation. Favorites (of course) include their signature tacos, with 13 types of meat, veggie, and seafood options. In addition to the regular tacos, they also offer birria tacos made with beef cooked until tender, tucked into tortillas with cheese, then paired with a cup of consommé for dipping.
Another popular option is their birria pizza, a mash-up that layers birria and melted cheese on a crisp tortilla base and top, then arrives with consommé on the side for maximum dunking potential. Beyond birria, the menu also includes items like huaraches, quesadillas, tortas, sopes, tamales, milanesa, caldo de res, and a variety of other traditional Mexican dishes.

Tacos La Villa also has a full-service concept in the works: Tacos La Villa Cantina at 800 Whitlock Ave, in the former MamiTaco space in the Burnt Hickory Village Shopping Center. Unlike the counter-service locations, the Cantina is planned as a sit-down spot with table service and a full bar. The Cantina is opening soon and recently posted a perfect 100 on its initial health inspection dated January 7, 2026.
