What better way to herald the holiday season than with a classical ballet story that warms the heart and delights the senses? GA Metro Dance Theatre (GMDT) is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated holiday classic The Nutcracker at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre in Marietta.

All are invited to the Stahlbaum’s holiday party, where a mischievous magician orchestrates surprises around each corner, and dolls and toy soldiers come to life to battle against giant mice! Then, go on a journey through the snowy Pine Forest to the delectable Kingdom of Sweets, where audiences will meet enchanting characters who entertain with dances from around the world.

The story comes to life with dazzling costumes and special effects, including a snowfall and a Christmas tree that grows. Be swept away by original choreography set to Tchaïkovsky’s iconic music with over 150 local company dancers, ranging in age from seven to eighteen, who train at Georgia Dance Conservatory on the Marietta Square. Professional dancers D Patton White as Godfather Drosselmeyer and Alex Barros as the Cavalier join our cast.

With four performances Thanksgiving weekend, this holiday classic promises to captivate audiences of all ages. Tickets are on sale now.
