The 3rd annual Constitution Day Festival of Georgia takes place on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 12:30pm. Celebrate America’s birthday in historic Glover Park in Marietta Square with musical performances including Banks & Shane as well as performances by local student groups. The Constitution Day Fest also features inflatables, food, and family fun along with Founding Father re-enactors, Constitutional speakers, and the Walk Thru The Constitution Challenge.
12:30pm – 6pm
Walk Thru The Constitution Challenge
The “Walk Thru The Constitution Challenge” allows families to literally learn the amendments as they walk thru different “amendment stations” at the festival. The 27 amendments of the Constitution are split into 13 different “amendment stations”. Each student will get a card punched as they progress through visiting each station. When all 13 stations are punched, the student will win a prize.
Admission is FREE. Food and drinks are available for sale.
Please note that this is an alcohol free event inside the park area and no tables and chairs are available for rent so bring your own lawn chair.
Free parking is available in the Cobb County parking deck (enter off Waddell Street) and the Mill Street lot. Parking is also available at county court logs (fees may apply) as well as Marietta Middle School. Please note that parking is not permitted at Marietta Square area churches, including First United Methodist Church and Marietta First Baptist Church. The churches have many activities this day and need their lots for their parishioners.
