The quirky Claire Dunaway will show off her serious and not-so-serious side at the unveiling of her new music-inspired collection at The Strand on Friday, September 3. “I always have been an avid people watcher,” Dunaway said, admitting the inspiration for her show. Her new collection will highlight a different side of Dunaway, as her last show focused on objects like rusty cars, barns, cows, horses, and gas station pumps. In fact, her “Caboose” painting from her last series was recently accepted to a juried show at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art and is on display through September 10 in the “Metro Montage X” exhibit. The show was judged by Adrianna Del Collo, Associate Archivist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
The new gallery of Dunaway’s artwork will be unveiled and open to the public during the Marietta Square’s First Friday Art Walk on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 6 to 9 PM. The Strand will also open its rooftop terrace and bar that evening and Claire Dunaway will paint live on the terrace.
The public is also invited to view the new exhibit at no charge on these select dates:
September 13, 12:30-2:30 PM
September 15, 5-6 PM
September 20, 12:30-2:30 PM
